In recent seasons, the Buffalo Bills have done a great job of blending in a strong run game with heavier personnel to accompany Josh Allen’s incredible skillset. They have built a complete offense to handle any game flow that the week presents them.
.
They run a little bit of everything, which makes them a fun study, well suited for this weekly game plan format.
The Bills attacked defenses with a nice inventory of 5 & 7 step pass concepts. Drop back and play action. Allowing Allen to think fast and seamlessly is priority #1, and the scheme helped him with this.
The run game features many downhill schemes. The Bills excel in Wide Zone and Duo, but also pound defenses with neat 22 personnel gap schemes.
Joe Brady had tremendous play designs for short yardage situations. The Bills also featured some great screens to create easy yards.
The Commanders, under offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury, expanded much of what they did in 2024.
.
The run game featured a lot of creativity. The coaching staff went into each week trying to find a handful of ways to help create better leverage and numbers for their blocking schemes.
Kingsbury expanded the pass game. With Jayden Daniels in year 2, the offense was able to try some new things. Different Keeper designs as well as Deep Over concept variations stood out. Kingsbury also expanded his 7-step play action menu significantly to help better push the ball downfield.
The Commanders designed a lot of creative screens. All of my favorites are covered in the book.
