Game Planning with the 2024 Los Angeles Rams

The Rams have aimed to make their entire offense look the same. Even more so than in McVay’s earlier years.

The Rams made Duo their bread and butter run call, even more so than in past years. Their offensive line is built for it, and it is how they want their identity to be. They design and adjust it in many ways to create the looks they want. I make this a focal point of the book.

The Rams expanded their play action menu in 2024. Adjusting and building out their core concepts while experimenting with new ones kept defenses off balance.

The drop back game is littered with concepts that give Stafford answers to whatever the defense throws at him. McVay and his staff do a great job putting their quarterback in a great position to shred defenses. They also make Stafford’s life easier with an exceptional screen game.

This format really shines for the Rams offense. They had some awesome game plans. Two that stuck out to me were when they faced Brian Flores and the Vikings twice.
