2025 Seahawks and Cowboys Bundle
Klint Kubiak and the Seahawks offensive staff put together an impressive season, excelling in many of the categories that I use to determine the best NFL offenses.
When you turn on the tape, you can see the Shanahan pass game is the starting point. The Seahawks built upon that base, expanding with creative advancements to already proven concepts. Staying one step ahead of the defense. A few good examples can be found for the Choice, Sail, Deep Over, and Bench families of concepts.
This book will be my go-to resource for red zone passing for the foreseeable future. This area seems to be Kubiak’s calling card as a play designer. Receivers running wide open on a weekly basis, creating separation at the top of routes to attack the tighter windows in the end zone. Jaxon Smith-Njigba opening up on a schemed up Post is what I think of first when looking at this area of the field.
This book covers multiple pass protection adjustments that paid huge dividends for the offense throughout the season. As modern defenses have started to figure out ways to manipulate the offensive line, many lessons can be learned watching how Seattle grabbed the chalk last in 2025.
The run game features the Shanahan staples. Outside Zone families of concepts as the starting points. Kubiak features more gap scheme variety out of single back looks that I found interesting, especially in lighter personnel groupings.
Brian Schottenheimer and the Cowboys coaching staff blend old school West Coast concepts into the modern NFL. The design of their pass game resembled a modern take on the classics, and propelled Dak Prescott an the rest of the offense to lead the NFL in scoring in 2025.
The Cowboys stand out with their design and execution of the three-step game. A lost art in the modern NFL that Schottenheimer leans into, takes advantage of defenses that don’t see as much of it on their schedules. This book spends six sections covering the Cowboys’ top 3-step concepts.
The Cowboys feature the Four Vertical family and the Middle Read concept as two of their most efficient ways to push the ball downfield in their 5-step inventory. Four Vertical sis often thought of as more of a college or high school pass concept, but the Cowboys show how it can be applied on Sundays to average over 10 yards per attempt with.
The 7-step family of concepts incorporate some unique protection solutions. The best play callers in the NFL are on the cutting edge for handling all of the exotic pressure fronts and paths from defenses. I highlight all of the best examples from the Cowboys 2025 season.
The run game is dynamic, featuring Inside Zone, Power, and Counter as the core runs from endless formations and personnel groupings.
